The All Stars edition is part of the Miss Grand International system, announced by Miss Grand International President Nawat at the end of 2025. This competition is separate from the original version, allowing contestants to register freely without needing approval from national MGI license holders.
Beauties who have participated in international pageants but have not won are eligible to compete. The competition is open to transgender women, married women, and mothers. Each country can have more than one contestant.
Earlier this year, the MGI license holder in Vietnam — which previously sent beauties like Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Ngoc Thao, Kieu Loan, Le Hoang Phuong, Doan Thien An, Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi to the competition — confirmed it would not send contestants to the new version of the pageant.
News of Huong Giang competing in MGI has garnered significant attention across domestic beauty forums and sparked extensive fan discussion. Beauty forums like Pageant Aficionado also reshared the post, attracting international public interest.
Her full name is Nguyen Huong Giang, 34 years old, from Hanoi. She first gained public attention after reaching the top 4 of Vietnam Idol 2012. In 2018, she was crowned Miss International Queen in Thailand. For many years, she has pursued singing, acting, and producing reality television shows.
In November 2025, she participated in the 74th edition of Miss Universe, directly selected by the license holder without winning Miss Universe Vietnam. After 21 days of competition and significant media attention, Huong Giang did not win any title. She expressed sadness but no regret, having fulfilled her aspiration and, more importantly, having the opportunity to showcase the image and confidence of transgender individuals on one of the planet's largest beauty stages.
The Miss Grand All Stars edition was initially scheduled from 25/1 to 13/2 but has now been postponed to May by the organizers. To date, the organization has announced over 10 contestants, many of whom are familiar to fans.
Miss Grand International is an annual international beauty pageant, organized in Thailand since 2013 by Nawat Itsaragrisil. It is one of the beauty pageants that fans follow annually, alongside Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was the first Vietnamese contestant to win this competition in 2021.
