The Vietnam Film Festival is a biennial event organized by the Cinema Department and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Its purpose is to honor works that embody national identity, possess humanistic values, exhibit creative distinction, and celebrate film artists for their outstanding achievements. In 2023, "Tro Tan Ruc Ro", directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, won multiple major awards. For its 24th edition, TP HCM is hosting the festival again after 10 years.
