Actor Steven Nguyen expressed excitement about co-starring with Ky Duyen, having admired her villainous role in Tran Thanh's "Bo tu bao thu". He thoroughly researched the script and delved into the character to portray his personality. Following the success of "Mua Do", he gained significant audience attention, which brought pressure to innovate, as he wanted to avoid being typecast. The actor hopes the new film will help him create a distinct impression on the big screen.
Born Nguyen Huy, the 35-year-old actor hails from TP HCM and graduated with an acting degree from the University of Theater and Cinema TP HCM. After graduation, he worked part-time at a theater, performing minor roles and working as a ticket checker to supplement his income. In 2021, he participated in the web drama "Bi Long dai ca" and was subsequently invited to audition for numerous films. In 2025, he played Lieutenant Nguyen Phuc Quang, an officer of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam tasked with recapturing Quang Tri ancient citadel, in the film "Mua Do", directed by Dang Thai Huyen.
Returning to cinema, Ky Duyen stated she accepted the role after reading the script due to her lifelong love for cheo (traditional Vietnamese opera) culture. She feels both excitement and pressure to explore a new facet of the Thi Mau character.

"Chi chi em em 3" is set in Bac Ninh, incorporating traditional cultural elements, including quan ho folk songs, with the aim of promoting the province's scenic attractions. In addition to Ky Duyen and Steven Nguyen, the film also features artists Le Khanh, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, and Chi Pu.
The film series revolves around complex female relationships, with each installment having independent content.
