Over the past two days, a conversation, reportedly from a private chat group of beauty queens including Quynh Anh, circulated widely on digital platforms. The content contained disparaging remarks and discussions about several individuals associated with the Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 competition.

The incident provoked a strong reaction from the public, especially given that Quynh Anh had been crowned only about 10 days prior. Her winning photo garnered nearly 10,000 "angry" reactions on Facebook.

On the evening of 13/10, Quynh Anh publicly addressed the controversy for the first time, admitting to inappropriate behavior. She apologized to those affected by her statements. "I understand I must be more careful and thoughtful, and also consider the feelings of those mentioned", she stated.

The beauty queen also extended her apologies to individuals, organizations, and the audience who had shown her affection and placed their expectations in her. "Being a beauty queen requires a heightened awareness of one's words and actions, even in the smallest matters", she reflected, adding that the incident served as a lesson for her personal growth.

Model Nguyen Quynh Anh, originally from Hanoi, stands 1.75 m tall with measurements of 82-63-90 cm. She gained public recognition after becoming the runner-up of The Face Vietnam 2018. Quynh Anh studied Human Resources Management at Hanoi University of Trade Unions and Saigon Tourism College. In 12/2021, she won the Supermodel Asia title. She has also ventured into acting with several projects, most recently "Loi hua dau tien" (First Promise). According to the organization holding the Miss Universe franchise, Quynh Anh is slated to compete in the 75th edition of the pageant, anticipated to take place in Puerto Rico in November.

Also implicated in the incident is Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 first runner-up Trinh My Anh. On the evening of 12/10, she also issued an apology, accepting responsibility for her actions. The beauty queen affirmed her commitment to serious self-reflection, listening to feedback, and demonstrating change through her actions. She is 23 years old, previously earned the Miss Earth Water title at Miss Earth 2025. She is 1.75 m tall with measurements of 87-63-93 cm, studied at the University of Commerce, and currently works as a model and CEO.

The Miss Universe Vietnam organizing committee stated that they have collaborated with the competition's production company and other involved parties to review and verify the controversial information. As of now, the results of their investigation and any disciplinary actions have not been announced by the organization.
