The film is a drama noir, a genre known for its thrilling plots, popular in Hollywood during the 1940s-1950s. The story explores the perspectives of two women, each with different lives, who find themselves in harsh situations, pushed to their limits. Thang Vu, who previously directed "Cai Ma", stated that he drew inspiration from a real event that occurred in 1963.
Thanh Hang expressed excitement about reuniting with veteran actress Hong Anh after 8 years, since their collaboration on "Thang Nam Ruc Ro", directed by Quang Dung. Unlike the friendship story in their previous film, this new project features intense psychological scenes, reflecting the characters' profound inner struggles. As a co-producer, Thanh Hang invested in the sets and costumes to meticulously recreate the luxurious ambiance of nightclubs from that era.
