On 27/1, Finance Sina reported that thousands of social media users on platforms like Douyin and Weibo shared an image alleging that Trieu Vy and her ex-husband, businessman Huynh Huu Long, were involved in money laundering. Dozens of entertainment bloggers further claimed Trieu Vy leveraged her influence and fame to aid "scam masterminds," thus amassing immense wealth.
Trieu Kien, Trieu Vy's brother, expressed distress over the "completely fabricated" news, which he noted had spread widely online.

Over the past six months, Trieu Vy's representatives reported the issue to police in Beijing and Shanghai. They also filed lawsuits against numerous accounts for spreading false information, which Trieu Kien stated defamed his sister and seriously damaged her reputation.
He acknowledged that litigation is challenging, but affirmed the family's determination to collect evidence, submit relevant documents to the court, and seek legal accountability from those responsible for spreading the rumors.
Trieu Vy was once a leading star in the Chinese entertainment industry, gaining fame through films such as Hoan Chau Cach Cach, Tan Dong Song Ly Biet, Hoa Bi, Doi Bong Thieu Lam, and Thien Ha Vo Song. She also achieved success as a singer and director.
Since 2021, Trieu Vy's entertainment career has been halted. Her last public appearance was at a Fendi fashion event, a brand she once endorsed, in 7/2021. The following month, in 8/2021, all her starring films were removed from video platforms, and her name was deleted from film award portals. Brands she represented also hid or deleted related posts on Weibo. These actions led fans to believe the star was "blacklisted," though authorities have not disclosed the reason for her effective ban.
According to St Headline, Trieu Vy had explored a return to the entertainment industry. In late 2025, she made a surprise appearance on an acquaintance's livestream sales event. However, the program was abruptly cut 10 minutes after she appeared, displaying a message: "program violates regulations." This incident reinforced public perception that Trieu Vy remains among "blacklisted artists."
