In the family drama, Truong Giang portrays Thach, a single father who raised his daughter An (Minh Anh) by making fish sauce. When An failed to get into her two preferred fashion schools, Thach advised her to join him in the family business. This led to significant generational disagreements and rifts between them.

The film is rated K, meaning it is suitable for all audiences, though children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Truong Giang minimized violent scenes. Although the film depicts working-class life, characters rarely use informal or vulgar language. As a father of two school-aged children, Truong Giang deeply understands how damaging words and negative messages can harm young children.
"I want my film, if possible, to spread positivity and be educational", Truong Giang stated. The film's concept was inspired by Truong Giang's own life story. The actor hopes the work will be a meaningful gift to his father, who struggled to raise him.
The film also features Le Khanh as Chau, Thach's friend, in a comedic role. Anh Tu plays the male lead, Phat, An's boyfriend. The couple secretly dates because Thach forbids his teenage daughter from romantic relationships.
Beyond the main cast, Truong Giang invited several close colleagues, including Ngo Kien Huy, Kieu Minh Tuan, and Cris Phan. The director explained that some choices stemmed from long-standing relationships, such as Ngo Kien Huy, who supported him early in his career. However, he emphasized that suitability for the role remained the top priority. Actors had to audition, after which Truong Giang assigned scripts based on each individual's strengths.
