On 21/9, a representative of Thanh Nhan Hospital said the surgical team safely removed the baby from the amniotic sac. This was the mother’s second birth, and doctors opted for a cesarean section. Both mother and baby are currently in stable condition.
Typically, the amniotic sac ruptures before birth due to uterine contractions during labor or is intentionally broken by medical professionals. Babies born entirely inside the amniotic sac are called "birth en caul" or "veiled birth", occurring in about 1 in 80,000 to 100,000 births.

When a baby is born en caul, the unbroken amniotic sac and fluid continue to protect the infant, maintaining stable pressure and guarding against infection and physical trauma during the final moments of pregnancy.
Doctors said that in this case, a planned C-section was a safe medical choice, especially for a woman who had a prior C-section, to reduce the risk of uterine rupture or complications during natural labor.
