The seminar, "Vitamin K2 and D3 - Effectiveness from raw materials, production technology, and quality standards," took place on 20/6 in Hanoi.
Dr. Truong Hong Son, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine, highlighted the role of vitamin K2 (specifically MK-7) in directing calcium to bones, preventing its deposit in soft tissues or blood vessels. "Children lacking K2 have a 1,535 times higher risk of stunted growth. Even with calcium and D3 supplements, without K2, height improvement is significantly hampered," he stated, citing a recent PubMed study.
Dr. Son advocated for including K2 in nutritional recommendations and supplementing it alongside D3, with stringent requirements for raw materials and clinical evidence.

Professor Nguyen Ngoc Chien, Director of the National Institute of Drug Technology, emphasized that product quality begins with raw materials, GMP standards, ICH stability control, and European-standard packaging. "For light-sensitive and easily oxidized substances like K2 and D3, the entire production and distribution chain must be a closed system."
Mr. Marco Atanassi, representing Gnosis by Lesaffre (France), a global leader in biological vitamin K2 technology, shared their process for creating high-purity (99.75%) vitamin K2. The product is fermented from the Bacillus subtilis DSM 17766 strain, similar to Japanese natto. It is registered in Europe, supported by 22 clinical studies demonstrating its absorption, safety, and effectiveness.

"Not all K2 is created equal. Only naturally fermented K2 can be called naturally sourced," Mr. Atanassi affirmed. "We control everything from the microbial strain and fermentation conditions to the refining process to ensure stability, the key to K2's biological effectiveness."
Mr. Jernej Klopčič, representing PharmaLinea, the research and production unit for LineaBon D3K2, stated: "Quality isn't a slogan; it's a chain of actions from raw materials to the last drop in the bottle."
