Gene Viet to build genetic testing center capable of processing 500,000 samples annually

Gene Viet's genetic testing center, slated to open in the second quarter of 2026, aims to be a leading facility for genetic decoding and AI-driven disease risk assessment and early detection.

On the afternoon of 22/8 in Hanoi, South Korea's JS Link and Gene Viet Molecular Biology Joint Stock Company signed a strategic partnership agreement. The agreement focuses on the construction, technology transfer, and equipment supply for a state-of-the-art genetic testing center.

Under the agreement, JS Link will consult on, build, and transfer advanced technology. They will also supply the complete equipment system for Gene Viet's genetic testing center. Scheduled to begin operations in the second quarter of 2026, the center will focus on genetic decoding and using AI for risk assessment and early detection of diseases like cancer, stroke, and diabetes.

With a projected capacity of 500,000 samples per year, the center is poised to be one of the largest in Asia and among the world's leading DNA testing facilities. Combining advanced analytical technologies with AI and big data on the human genome, the center seeks to create breakthroughs in personalized medicine based on individual genetic maps. These advancements will impact preventative care, disease treatment, stem cell research, and applications in healthcare and beauty.

At the signing ceremony, Le Van Khoa, general director of Gene Viet, emphasized, "This partnership with JS Link not only brings advanced genomics technologies but also marks a crucial step for Vietnam. It positions us as a bright spot on the global map of biotechnology research and application."

This partnership is also seen as a step towards realizing a shift from outsourcing to technology transfer, research, and development in biotechnology. This key area was discussed during General Secretary To Lam's state visit to South Korea from 10/8 to 13/8.

Founded in 2000, JS Link is a pioneer in biotechnology and genomics with over 20 years of experience. The company has comprehensive capabilities in genomics, proteomics, multi-omics, big data biology, and precision medicine. They have collaborated with numerous hospitals, government agencies, and global corporations.

JS Link is a strategic partner in several national gene projects in South Korea and a leader in gene-based precision medicine initiatives. With a team of over 70 experts, including 10 doctors, JS Link is establishing itself as a global player in the industry.

Gene Viet is a pioneer in Vietnam in DNA testing, whole-genome sequencing, preimplantation genetic screening (PGS), and targeted cancer screening and treatment. The company has an internationally certified ISO 9001 laboratory and utilizes next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology from leading companies like Thermo Fisher and MGI.

With 99.9% accuracy in its testing, Gene Viet has performed thousands of complex tests and gained international recognition.

Gene Viet's core services include DNA paternity testing, whole-genome sequencing (genomics), targeted cancer screening and treatment, and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS Test).
