On 16/8, Ho Chi Minh City's 115 Emergency Medical Services network launched two satellite emergency stations at Ba Ria General Hospital and Vung Tau General Hospital, bringing the city's total to 49. The day before, two satellite stations in the former Binh Duong area were also launched at Binh Duong General Hospital and Military Hospital 4. Previously, these areas did not have a 115 Emergency Center.
Tang Chi Thuong, Director of Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Health, stated that expanding the network of 115 satellite stations allows residents in the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau areas to access Ho Chi Minh City's emergency medical services. The health sector continues to accelerate the establishment of more satellite stations in these two areas.
Ho Chi Minh City has been standardizing coordination procedures between out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, strengthening the connection between hospitals and the 115 emergency system. Emergency medical personnel are trained according to the World Health Organization, International Red Cross, and International Federation of Emergency Medicine's standardized ABCDE approach.

In 2021, the 115 Emergency Center in Ho Chi Minh City implemented an emergency dispatch software system to optimize call handling, analyze real-time emergency situations, and automatically dispatch ambulances to the most appropriate locations.
The 115 hotline also provides first aid advice and guidance over the phone, both to reassure people and to guide them on what to do while waiting for the emergency team to arrive. This phone-based guidance on CPR and procedures for choking incidents, among others, has helped save many critically ill patients.
By the end of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City plans to begin construction on a new, modern, international-standard 115 Emergency Center at the Tan Kien Specialized Medical Cluster.
