According to the recall decision issued on 1/8, the affected product is Gel AG Nano TP Plus, packaged in a 20g tube, batch number 072024. TH Pharma Import-Export Joint Stock Company in Hanoi is responsible for its distribution, while Quang Xanh Cosmetics and Pharmaceuticals Company Limited in Hung Yen manufactured it.
The recall follows testing by the Nghe An Center for Drug, Cosmetics, and Food Testing. A sample taken from Nha Thuoc 365 pharmacy in Nghe An province failed to meet quality standards for microorganism limits.
Online retailers advertise Gel AG Nano Plus as a cleanser, moisturizer, and skin soother with antibacterial properties, claiming it helps prevent fungal infections, itching, dermatitis, and ulcers. Experts warn that using substandard cosmetics can be ineffective and potentially harmful to skin and overall health.

In response to this violation, authorities have directed local health departments to instruct businesses to immediately halt sales and use of the affected batch and return it to the supplier.
The Hanoi and Hung Yen health departments are tasked with overseeing the recall and disposal process at the respective companies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Authorities have recently uncovered numerous violations at manufacturing and distribution facilities, leading to recalls and destruction of counterfeit and substandard drugs and cosmetics. In June, the Drug Administration of Vietnam conducted surprise inspections of 38 facilities, finding 17 in violation. Additionally, inspections of 865 manufacturing, import, and distribution facilities across 20 provinces and cities revealed 48 violations.
