Around 12:50 a.m. on 6/9, a white Mitsubishi SUV crashed into a power pole on the median strip of Highway 347 in Ayutthaya Province, central Thailand, Khaosod reported. The impact destroyed the entire right side of the vehicle, trapping the 42-year-old driver inside. Rescue crews used hydraulic cutters to free him.
An emergency room nurse, just finished her shift at Ayutthaya Hospital, happened upon the scene. She stopped to assist and, upon seeing the driver’s face, burst into tears. She recognized the severely injured man as her boyfriend, who had been driving ahead of her just moments before.
Witnesses said that despite her immense grief, the nurse performed CPR on her boyfriend and accompanied him in the ambulance to the hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
