The Food Safety Authority under the Ministry of Health has announced the recall of two batches (01.02.25 and 01.06.23) of CANCIVITA D3-GT. These batches, produced and distributed by Huong Hoang Pharmaceutical and Functional Food Co., Ltd., were found to contain ingredients not listed in the product's registration documents. Gia Thuan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company in Bac Ninh originally registered the product without palm oil, lecithin, nipagin, nipasol, ethyl vanillin, titanium dioxide, tatrazine lake, and tatrazine. However, the manufacturer added these ingredients to the formula.
A representative of the Food Safety Authority stated, "Unauthorized changes to product ingredients without updating the relevant authorities violate food safety regulations and pose potential health risks to consumers." The agency has requested local authorities to supervise the recall of both batches.
Consumers are advised to discontinue use and report to health authorities if they encounter this product in the market.
Authorities have recently uncovered numerous cases of low-quality drug and dietary supplement production and trade. Last week, the Food Safety Authority requested a halt to the circulation of a batch of Apiroca-B effervescent tablets due to quality issues. Since the beginning of the year, authorities have handled over 34,000 violations, including over 8,200 cases of banned goods trading, over 25,100 cases of commercial fraud, and over 1,100 cases of counterfeit goods.
