On 25/9, the hospital reported that the patient was admitted with a crushed right forearm and a completely severed hand due to a workplace accident. The biggest challenge was ensuring the safety of the mother and her twins, while also preserving the chance to restore her hand so she could care for her children later.

Facing this urgent situation, the surgical team decided to perform a complex microsurgery, connecting the blood vessels of the hand to those in the patient's right leg. This solution helped maintain circulation, essentially keeping the hand "alive" until the mother's health was stable enough for the next surgery. Concurrently, doctors used a skin flap from her abdomen to cover the crushed forearm.
During the 3-hour operation, doctors performed the temporary graft while closely monitoring the fetuses to prevent any complications.
Currently, the mother's health is stable, the twins are developing normally, and the preserved hand is showing positive progress. The hospital plans to perform a second surgery to reattach the hand to its original position when the fetuses reach 32 weeks.
