Doctor Tran Linh Giang, Head of the Otolaryngology Department, described the case as complex. General anesthesia was impossible because the patient couldn't lie supine; tilting his head back worsened his breathing. He received local anesthesia for the surgery to reconnect his trachea and close the wound in his neck.
The patient is now in stable condition and is undergoing recovery treatment.
