The collaboration encompasses teaching support, clinical practice, joint research, and technology transfer. The goal is to establish an international-standard learning and practice environment in the Central Highlands, allowing students to develop their skills and medical ethics early on. The two institutions will also share resources, connect knowledge, and standardize medical procedures.
Vinmec Nha Trang and Tay Nguyen University will undertake applied research projects focused on regional health issues, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data. This will enhance diagnostic and treatment effectiveness and foster multidisciplinary workforce development through internships at Vinmec.
This partnership addresses the shortage of skilled doctors and modern medical facilities in the Central Highlands and South Central Coast regions. Patients often have to travel hundreds of kilometers to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi for specialized treatment, incurring significant costs and time, and potentially missing timely treatment opportunities.
Doctor Phan Quoc Dung, Director of Vinmec Nha Trang International General Hospital, believes this partnership will help change this situation. It is hoped that this collaboration will create an innovative environment, not only honing doctors' skills but also shaping multidisciplinary scientists ready to embrace modern medical trends. This initiative is part of Vinmec's long-term strategy to expand its training and research partnerships with key universities.
