28 arrested for online cannabis trafficking in Ho Chi Minh City

Police tracked down narcotics and cannabis sold through private groups and chat applications, leading to the arrest of 28 suspects, including foreign nationals.

On 21/1, the Ho Chi Minh City Police's Drug Crime Investigation Department announced that these individuals are being investigated for illegal trafficking, organizing, and use of narcotics.

Previously, detectives simultaneously raided multiple locations, arresting suspects and seizing over 3,2 kg of cannabis and 139 e-cigarettes containing cannabis oil. Furthermore, test results confirmed that all 28 individuals involved tested positive for narcotics.

This operation by the Drug Crime Investigation Department coincides with the Ho Chi Minh City Police's peak period crackdown on crime for the 2026 Tet holiday, aimed at ensuring security for the upcoming Party Congress.
