Nguyen Tan Manh, 50, faces investigation by Dong Thap Provincial Police for violating road traffic regulations. His arrest on 23/12 follows a tragic incident nearly three weeks prior where his vehicle struck three young men on a roadside.

The accident occurred on the evening of 5/12. Manh was driving a sleeper bus, carrying 20 passengers from Vinh Phong commune, An Giang province, to Ho Chi Minh City. While traveling on National Highway 80, specifically through Vinh Phu hamlet, Lap Vo commune, Manh suddenly swerved the bus to the left shoulder, crashing onto the roadside.

The out-of-control bus hit three young men who were sitting and drinking by the road. The collision resulted in the deaths of Tan, 19, and Kha, 17. Tai, 18, sustained severe injuries in the incident.
Following the accident, driver Manh surrendered to the communal police. A rapid test confirmed he had no alcohol in his system and tested negative for drugs.
