On 29/5, Hoang Van Thanh, a resident of Thanh Nhat ward, was arrested and detained by Dak Lak Provincial Police for violating road traffic regulations.

According to the investigation, on the evening of 26/5, Thanh was driving a truck on Provincial Road 8 from Quang Phu commune to Buon Ma Thuot ward. Upon reaching the area in front of Tan An Industrial Park gate on Ha Huy Tap street, he swerved into the left lane to overtake a vehicle traveling in the same direction.

Thanh noticed a motorcycle carrying two people approaching from the opposite direction, about 100 meters away. Believing the "motorcycle would move out of the way", he continued to overtake. However, as the motorcycle moved towards the center of the road and did not yield, Thanh braked and slowed down to return his truck to the correct lane.

Due to the dangerously close distance between the two vehicles at that moment, a collision occurred. Consequently, a 26-year-old man died at the scene, and the other person, despite being rushed to the hospital, also succumbed to their injuries.
