Former Ba Ria - Vung Tau police headquarters becomes boarding school for nearly 900 students

The former Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial police headquarters, spanning 6,6 hectares, has been converted into a boarding school, expected to accommodate 890 students from disadvantaged backgrounds and policy-beneficiary families.

On the afternoon of 15/8, the Ministry of Public Security announced the establishment of Truong Van Hoa Cong an Nhan dan V. This new school is based on the functional conversion of the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial police headquarters, located in Ba Ria ward, TP HCM.

The headquarters, inaugurated in 2012, sits on a 6,6 hectare plot of land and represented a total investment exceeding 270 ty dong. The extensive campus includes: a command center building, police and security blocks, a medical station, a gymnasium, and a sports training area.

Following organizational restructuring, this facility was chosen to establish Truong Van Hoa CAND V, which is expected to welcome 890 students in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The school operates as a boarding institution, dedicated to children of policy-beneficiary families, disadvantaged ethnic minority children, and those under social protection.

8 buildings renovated in over one month

Over the past month, 8 buildings have been repaired, renovated, and handed over. These include: the administration building, primary - secondary school block, high school block, auditorium, teacher housing area, and student dormitories.

Classrooms, functional rooms, a library, a STEAM room, and basic teaching equipment have been installed. The dormitories provide beds, wardrobes, and living facilities for students.

To date, TP HCM Police have received 400 applications for admission to the school. Teachers are supported by local public schools, while the school continues to recruit additional staff.

Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, Director of TP HCM Police, stated that the school establishment project was completed in 45 days. This rapid development encompassed legal requirements, organizational structure, teachers, facilities, funding, and educational curriculum, ensuring readiness for operation by the new academic year.

According to Lieutenant General Hoang, TP HCM Police aims to build this place into a "peaceful, happy home," helping disadvantaged students overcome challenges and develop confidently.

At the announcement ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, stated that the establishment of People's Public Security Cultural Schools aims to create equal learning and development opportunities for children of policy-beneficiary families, disadvantaged ethnic minority children, and those under social protection.

He requested the school to build an environment where students can be cared for, learn, and develop comprehensively. Furthermore, TP HCM Police should complete the teacher recruitment, facilities, and necessary conditions for the school to operate from the new academic year.
