The incident occurred on 1/1, according to the investigation. At 6 p.m., a 32-year-old man hosted a gathering with 5 friends at his home in Vinh Phu hamlet, Long Thanh commune. By 7:30 p.m., the group moved to a concrete bridge area in front of the house to continue drinking, and Tuan later joined them.

Shortly after Tuan arrived, he and the host had an argument that escalated into a scuffle. Others intervened, and Tuan rode his motorbike home. He retrieved a lead pellet air gun and returned, firing one shot as a warning. When the group chased and attacked him, Tuan fired again, and a pellet struck the host's head, causing him to collapse on the spot. The victim was taken to the emergency room but did not survive.

After committing the crime, Tuan fled the scene. He later surrendered to Long Thanh Communal Police, confessing to the entire act.
