Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, head of the National Cybersecurity Steering Committee, shared this message at a rally marking Vietnam Cybersecurity Day.

The prime minister emphasized that ensuring cybersecurity requires a synchronized approach, integrating both "system protection" and "human protection." The ultimate goal is to measure all policies by the safety, peace, and happiness of the people.

This principle underpins the theme of this year's cybersecurity day: "for a humane cyberspace for everyone."

Addressing the National Cybersecurity Steering Committee, Prime Minister Hung called for completing the legal framework and removing bottlenecks related to cybersecurity, data, and personal data protection. He stressed the immediate need for strong sanctions to strictly address legal violations in cyberspace, fostering a safe, healthy, and reliable digital environment.

He also urged technology, telecommunications, and financial enterprises to embrace their "social responsibility." Specifically, banks should proactively adopt human-centric security architectures and integrate free, automatic fraud warning features for users.

Specialized cybersecurity forces are tasked with maintaining their role as a "steel shield," firmly protecting national digital sovereignty.

For citizens, the prime minister recommended acquiring digital skills, enhancing awareness, and improving self-protection and civil conduct in cyberspace. This approach aims to transform each individual into a "proactive digital shield."

"When 100 million citizens unite, we will form the strongest digital wall to protect ourselves, our families, and the nation," he stated.

Following the rally, the prime minister chaired a session of the National Cybersecurity Steering Committee.

Since 2024, the government has designated august 6 annually as Vietnam Cybersecurity Day.
