Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, presented the Minister of Public Security's decision to transfer and appoint Colonel Tuan on the morning of April 1.

The Ministry of Public Security also announced on the same day that Major General Dang Trong Cuong, the former provincial police director, was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security's Office.

During the ceremony, leaders from the Organization Committee of Son La Provincial Party Committee announced the decision to appoint Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan to the Provincial Party Committee Executive Board, as a member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee, and as Secretary of the Son La Provincial Police Party Committee for the 2026-2031 term.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long congratulated Major General Cuong and Colonel Tuan on their new assignments. He expressed confidence that they would quickly adapt, maintain internal solidarity, and foster collective wisdom in their new roles.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan, 49, hails from Phu Tho province. He previously headed the economic police department for Phu Tho Provincial Police. In 2022, while serving as deputy director and head of the investigative police agency for Phu Tho Provincial Police, he was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security as deputy chief of staff of its investigative police agency.
