Son ransacks parents' bedroom, steals money while they are away

Lu Hai Dang, 19, took advantage of his parents' absence to break into their bedroom with his maternal uncle, stealing phones, cash, and gold worth nearly 900 million dong.

An Giang Provincial Police criminally detained Lu Hai Dang, 19, and his 17-year-old maternal uncle on 15/1, investigating them for property theft.

Initial investigations revealed that on the evening of 11/1, Lu Hai Dang, facing financial difficulties, decided to steal money and gold from his home. He then invited his maternal uncle to assist him.

Around 10 PM that night, while his parents were away in Ho Chi Minh City for a medical check-up and two siblings were asleep, Dang called his uncle to carry out the plan. The two ransacked Dang's parents' bedroom, taking two mobile phones, gold jewelry, and cash, with a total value of approximately 900 million dong. His maternal uncle kept the stolen items.

The following morning, Dang's mother returned home, discovered the lost property, and promptly reported the theft to police.

During questioning, Dang initially denied involvement but later confessed to his actions.
