Stabbing incident severely injures partner over jealousy

Huynh Van Doi, 41, is accused of chasing and stabbing his partner and her sister, causing injuries ranging from 2% to 40%, following a jealous dispute.

On 26/1, Doi was temporarily detained by An Giang provincial police for intentionally causing injury.

According to the investigation, around 9h on 7/12/2025, after a drinking party with friends, Doi went to the Tan Tuyen Primary School canteen in Co To commune to find his 36-year-old partner, a small vendor. An argument fueled by jealousy erupted between them. Doi then took the woman's phone and left.

Around 16h that same day, the woman and her sister went to Doi's house to retrieve the phone. During the verbal dispute, Doi chased them and repeatedly stabbed them with a knife, leaving his partner with 40% injuries and her sister with 2% injuries.

After the attack, Doi inflicted injuries upon himself and then threw the knife into a ditch. Both victims were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
