Security camera footage captured images of the thief stealing property from the groom's family.
The theft occurred during the early hours following the wedding celebration, which involved approximately 30 tables of guests. According to initial findings, the 33-year-old groom's family hosted their wedding reception on the evening of 14/3. By 21h, after greeting guests and drinking, the groom retired to his room, leaving his phone on the bedside table.
The family secured their valuables before retiring, only to discover them missing the following morning. Around 22h, as most guests had departed, relatives cleaned up and placed the box containing wedding gift money into the couple's bedroom for safekeeping, subsequently locking the front door. At approximately 23h, the groom's sister and a friend stayed overnight at the house, placing their phones nearby. The next morning, the groom awoke to find his phone gone. A subsequent check of the house revealed that the wedding gift money box and several other phones were also missing.
Initial estimates indicate significant financial and material losses for the newlywed couple. The stolen property included approximately 150 million VND in wedding gift money and 5 mobile phones, totaling nearly 277 million VND.
