Ho Duc Binh, 37, from Quang Ngai province, has been handed over to Hanoi City Police for investigation into an alleged rape. A leader from Hoanh Son Ward Police confirmed Binh's transfer on 8/1.

According to the investigation, Binh met the woman, from Hoa Binh province, through social media. In the early morning of 6/1, he invited her to eat, allegedly intoxicated her, and then took her to a guesthouse where he sexually assaulted her.

After the assault, Binh immediately boarded a long-distance bus, heading to his hometown to evade capture. The victim subsequently reported the incident to the police, initiating a swift search.

Around 3 p.m. the same day, acting on a tip-off from the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police, Hoanh Son Ward Police located Binh on a Quang Ngai-registered bus. The bus was traveling through an area formerly part of Ky Anh town, prompting police to plan his apprehension. When the bus stopped at a gas station, 4 officers approached and subdued the suspect.
