Previously, in late May, the Ho Chi Minh City Police's Economic Police Department, in coordination with Phu Hoa Dong Commune Police (Cu Chi district), raided two production workshops belonging to the couple.
At the scene, authorities seized over 23,000 pairs of counterfeit sandals bearing labels like Nike, Adidas, Crocs, and Gucci, valued at more than 2 billion dong. Officials also confiscated a large quantity of accessories, labels, tools, and production equipment.

Investigators determined that Dat and Thuy led this operation, organizing the production of counterfeit goods from June 2025 to the present. The couple employed 14 workers for various stages of manufacturing the finished sandals. This network released a significant volume of fake products into the market, generating tens of billions of dong in illicit gains.
Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to expand the investigation, clarifying the roles of individuals involved, raw material suppliers, and distribution channels.
