Many fashion brands are competing at the World Cup – the world's biggest football tournament – with an intensity far surpassing fashion weeks.

Dang Phuoc Dat, 30, and his 27-year-old wife, Vu Thi Thu Thuy, established a workshop manufacturing counterfeit 'brand-name' sandals such as Nike, Adidas, Crocs, and Gucci, generating tens of billions of dong in illegal profits.

Luu Phat Thuan, 35, director of Thale Group, is accused of illegally profiting over 3.5 billion VND from selling counterfeit shoes, sandals, and socks from famous brands online.

Police simultaneously raided three shoe stores owned by Nguyen Tran Viet Hoang, 33, seizing nearly 1,500 pairs of counterfeit Nike, Adidas, Onitsaku Tiger branded shoes.
