On 22/5, two lawyers were shot outside the old Wake County Courthouse in Raleigh, North Carolina, by a litigant following a tense civil court hearing. The Raleigh Police Department reported the midday incident.
The shooting occurred after a civil suit that morning between 57-year-old Gwendolyn White and the town of Rolesville authorities. The atmosphere in court was tense, with White reportedly "displaying aggressive behavior at court." Police have not disclosed the nature of the civil lawsuit.
Around 10:30 a.m., after the hearing concluded, White left the courthouse, retrieved her vehicle, and returned. She then approached the two lawyers representing the town of Rolesville and repeatedly opened fire on them.
