Japanese eyewear brand Jins arrives in Vietnam

Jins Vietnam has opened a pop-up store at Saigon Centre, offering customers a preview before its official launch in November.

The Jins Saigon Centre Pop-up Store opened at 9:30 a.m. on 25/6 and will run until 31/8. Opening hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. The 200 m2 store is located at L3-24&25, level 3, Saigon Centre, 67 Le Loi Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The pop-up showcases Jins' key products, provides staff training, introduces the brand, and demonstrates the Jins Brain AI system. This technology assesses the fit of frames to a customer's face and offers personalized recommendations. A photo booth is also available. While the pop-up doesn't sell products directly, it accepts pre-orders for purchase when the official store opens in November.

Despite not offering sales, the pop-up replicates key service areas, including lens processing, frame adjustment, and eye exams. Customers can observe these processes and experience Jins' services and quality firsthand. The space also serves as a training ground for Vietnamese staff to hone their skills in a real-world simulation.

The pop-up store was designed by architects Fumiko Takahama and Tomohiko Komatsu, who have created numerous Jins stores globally, including the Jins headquarters in Tokyo. Products are arranged by line on individual shelves, displayed like artwork in a gallery, highlighting each frame's unique aesthetic. The wooden shelves evoke traditional craftsmanship and create a warm atmosphere.

With its "Magnify Life" vision, Jins strives to continually expand new experiences for global customers. Since opening its first store in Japan in 2001, the brand has expanded to various countries and territories, including China (2010), the US and Taiwan - China (2015), the Philippines and Hong Kong - China (2018).

Earlier this year, Jins opened a store in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of a more aggressive global expansion strategy. As of the end of May, Jins operates 789 stores in 6 regions and plans to expand into Mongolia in August.

The establishment of a Vietnamese subsidiary in 2024 and the upcoming Saigon Centre store opening in 11/2025 demonstrate Jins' commitment to this promising market. The pop-up allows Vietnamese customers to experience the brand's vision and identity, while fostering connections with local consumers.
