Nutifood and Military Hospital 175 have formalized a partnership to conduct clinical research aimed at developing specialized nutrition solutions, particularly for cancer and diabetes patients. The cooperation agreement, signed on 20/6, outlines a collaboration for scientific research, evaluating the clinical efficacy of nutritional products on patients, and implementing clinical trial programs.
This strategic alliance will combine the research capabilities of the Nutrition Research Institute of Ho Chi Minh City (NRI) with the extensive medical data system and treatment expertise of Military Hospital 175. The goal is to develop nutrition solutions tailored to the specific health needs of Vietnamese people.

The initial phase of the partnership will focus on two clinical studies. One study will evaluate Värna Gentle Care, a product designed for cancer patients, while the other will assess Värna Life Sua Hat, intended for diabetes patients. These studies will rigorously evaluate product safety, tolerability, and efficacy within each patient group, thereby establishing a scientific evidence base for developing specialized nutrition solutions that better meet healthcare needs.
Major General, Doctor Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, detailed the research process, stating that the two studies would proceed through stages of proposal approval, implementation, clinical result evaluation, and acceptance. He emphasized the significant demand for patient nutrition, particularly across specialties like oncology and resuscitation. "Our objective, in collaboration with Nutifood, is to conduct clinical research to determine the most suitable nutritional approaches for these patients, starting with the cancer group, adhering to global standards while being appropriate for Vietnamese individuals," he said.

Military Hospital 175 brings substantial advantages to the partnership, including a large-scale medical data system that records over one million patient visits annually. It is also one of the few institutions licensed by the Ministry of Health to conduct clinical trials and participate in numerous international research programs. Major General Tran Quoc Viet expressed his expectation that this partnership would leverage the strengths of both parties, from nutritional product research and development capabilities to the hospital's specialized systems and clinical data. "Through this research, products brought to market will possess both scientific and practical value," Major General Tran Quoc Viet stated.
Major General Tran Quoc Viet also noted that Military Hospital 175 currently operates a Nutrition Department, which provides suitable menus and dietary regimens for patients. However, nutritional products are still prepared in the hospital kitchen. To enhance this, he suggested referencing international models that utilize pre-packaged products, researching and creating nutritionally sound products for Vietnamese patients at the most reasonable prices.
Tran Bao Minh, Vice Chairman of Nutifood's Board of Directors, affirmed Nutifood's commitment to scientific advancement. He noted that in recent years, the company has consistently invested in scientific research activities through domestic and international research institutes, collaborating with universities and leading global nutrition experts. "To understand the benefits and efficacy of products on patients, clinical research is essential. This is why Nutifood is partnering with Military Hospital 175 and other institutions nationwide: to build a scientific foundation for its nutrition solutions," he explained.
"This direction is also identified by the company as a core focus in its long-term development strategy and for enhancing competitiveness in the international market," said Tran Bao Minh. He highlighted a recent achievement: Nutifood's FDI (Foundation of Digestion & Immunity) formula received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in the field of child nutrition on 15/5. According to Minh, this demonstrates that Nutifood's nutritional formula development has reached international standards, while remaining suitable for the Vietnamese physique and offering 20-30% cost savings.
"Nutifood is pursuing a strategy of developing nutritional solutions that are thoroughly researched, scientifically proven, and progressively recognized internationally. The collaboration with Military Hospital 175 will help create the foundation for us to realize that goal," Minh emphasized.

According to Minh, connecting with leading medical and research institutions not only helps the company better understand the health characteristics and nutritional needs of Vietnamese people but also facilitates the transformation of research into practical nutritional products and solutions, serving diverse groups from children to the elderly. Through this, Nutifood hopes to gradually elevate the position of Vietnam's nutrition industry on the global nutrition map.
During the signing ceremony, Nutifood representatives also announced a donation of 2 billion dong to Military Hospital 175's charity fund to support disadvantaged child patients.
