Saigon Beer unites football fans through nationwide amateur tournament

The Saigon Beer Dragon Cup, a national 7-a-side football tournament, has kicked off in eight regions across Vietnam, bringing together nearly 60 teams to compete in 284 matches.

2025 marks the 4th season of the Saigon Beer Dragon Cup, significantly expanding on the scale of the previous three seasons. Starting in May, the 2025 Saigon Beer Dragon Cup will run until 27/7. The organizers hope that through this platform for amateur talent, the tournament can ignite local pride and unite millions of hearts with a shared love of football.

Throughout the matches, each team has showcased the unique styles and characteristics of their respective regions. Teams from the Mekong Delta displayed flowing passing sequences, while those from central Vietnam demonstrated strength and resilience. Meanwhile, northern teams exhibited refined techniques and well-structured tactics.

A highlight of this season is the Showmatch, where seven outstanding amateur players from different provinces have the opportunity to share the field with professional football stars, including current and former national team players. This match provides a platform for amateur talents to showcase their skills and demonstrates Saigon Beer's commitment to connecting people through their shared passion for football.

Bui Kha Tho (SHB Club) shared, "I've played in many amateur tournaments, but the Saigon Beer Dragon Cup feels the most professional. Hearing the fans cheer is the biggest motivation for us to give our all".

Le Tuan Anh (Thien Khoi Club) said that every time he steps onto the pitch, he experiences an enthusiastic sporting spirit from both players and fans. "Thank you, Saigon Beer, for creating such an engaging platform where we can not only compete but also interact with teams from all over the country," Anh said.

Across all eight regions, the Saigon Beer Dragon Cup matches provide an opportunity for fans to ignite their passion and spread the spirit of sports. Stands are packed, and the resounding drums and cheers create an electric atmosphere. Quoc Tuan, a fan from Da Nang, enthusiastically stated, "At the Saigon Beer Dragon Cup, I can truly feel the unity between the teams and the local community. The players compete for their team colors, and we support them with all our hearts".

Beyond the matches, the tournament also offers various interactive activities and side events for fans to connect. Setting aside differences in geographical distance or age, everyone immerses themselves in the vibrant sporting atmosphere.

Minh Nhat, a fan from TP HCM, has followed the Saigon Beer Dragon Cup since its inception. He commented, "Saigon Beer has created a sporting platform that is both civilized and professional, not only in terms of playing conditions but also in the engaging activities for fans".
