Lowe's family announced his passing on 25/7, following a battle with cancer.
Lowe had managed several prominent nightclubs in Kings Cross, Sydney's vibrant nightlife district. He was considered a key figure in shaping the city's after-dark scene, a hub for artists and entrepreneurs.
In early 2024, Lowe began experiencing persistent abdominal pain. Six months later, during a specialist examination, an endoscopy revealed an esophageal tumor.
He underwent three weeks of intensive radiation therapy, with increasing pain as the treatment progressed. The cancer later metastasized to his liver, reaching stage four. As his hope dwindled, Lowe entered palliative care.
The idea of organizing his own "living funeral" came to him. "I want my friends to remember me full of life and energy, not in my final days," he said.
Instead of hospital visits, Lowe, despite a 25 kg weight loss, wanted to see his friends while still lucid. He saw it as a gentler departure and a chance to say goodbye on his own terms.
In 5/2025, Lowe invited 180 close friends to a yacht party at Sydney Harbour. The invitations requested guests to forgo mourning, instead sharing memories and raising a glass with him.
Lowe addressed his health directly to avoid repeated questions throughout the event. "This is a proactive farewell in an intimate setting," he explained.
Notable figures from the fashion world attended, including TV presenter Sophie Falkiner, former model Michelle Leslie, designer Tali Jatali, stylist Mars Marsanic, interior designer Josh Clapp, and Chic Models director Kathy Ward.

Lowe expressed gratitude for a fulfilling life and supportive friends. Guests danced to his favorite disco tracks.
"The saddest part of having cancer is having time to plan your death, but also the chance to do what you want," he reflected.
The party was filled with tears, hugs, and laughter. Lowe chose to spend his last night conversing, drinking, and embracing his loved ones, rather than in sorrow.
When asked about unfulfilled dreams, Lowe said he had accomplished almost everything. He had recently taken a family ski trip to Switzerland, a cherished experience he knew would be his last.
Lowe passed away two months after the farewell party.
Many in the industry view his passing as the end of an era in Sydney's nightlife, a time when nightclubs were not only entertainment venues but also showcases of power, lifestyle, and relationships.
