Following the impact, Han lost control of his motorbike and swerved into a truck moving a few meters away, throwing him onto the road. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital by locals but did not survive.
At the scene, the motorbike was severely damaged, with debris scattered across the road. The buffalo, weighing about 200 kg, was also injured and lay in the middle of the road.
Mai Phu Commune Police, in coordination with the Ha Tinh Provincial Police's professional units, conducted an examination and managed traffic flow. The accident scene was cleared by early 1/7.
Local authorities confirmed that Han was a law student at a university in Hanoi and was home for summer break.
In previous years, Ha Tinh province has recorded numerous fatal accidents involving stray cattle on national roads. The province has directed all levels of government to strictly monitor and penalize individuals, households, and organizations that allow cattle to roam freely on roads and railways. Local leaders are held accountable to the province for any incidents where stray cattle disrupt traffic safety, environmental hygiene, or urban aesthetics.
