Previously, during the early bird sales phase, the event recorded nearly 12,000 registered athletes. Organizers anticipate that the preferential pricing policy will continue to help many running groups access the event during the regular phase.
Minh Bao, a runner from TP HCM who participated in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, stated that he registered as soon as this year's season opened for sales. Despite having joined numerous domestic and international races, he finds the event's course uniquely distinctive.
"Beyond the beautiful course, the feeling of running amidst the land, sky, and rivers of the Mekong Delta is truly special. The people of Dong Thap are also incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. This year, I'm inviting a few more friends to Dong Thap to combine the race with tourism and explore the surroundings for one or two days", Bao said.
The VPBank Dat Sen Hong music marathon 2026 will take place from 9 to 11/10 at Van Mieu square, Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province. The event features four distances: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km half-marathon, and 42 km marathon. According to the organizers, all distances are measured and certified according to International Marathon Association (AIMS) standards.
The 21 km and 42 km distances are for runners seeking to challenge their endurance and physical control. Meanwhile, the 5 km and 10 km distances are suitable for recreational runners, beginners, or those wanting to experience the event's atmosphere.
The race course guides athletes through many characteristic areas of Dong Thap, from iconic landmarks, riverine landscapes, and rice fields to rural village settings. The organizers aim to enhance connection and enrich runners' experiences during the competition by combining sports elements with local scenery and community.

In addition to the main distances, the Kun Fun Run 800 m for children and families will continue to be organized, aiming to encourage physical activity among children and enhance bonding experiences for families.
Beyond focusing on improving the quality of the race course, the VPBank Dat Sen Hong music marathon 2026 is also designed as a sports, entertainment, and experience festival for the sports-loving community. Throughout the three-day event, runners will have the opportunity to explore the Expo area with various interactive activities, experience local culture, unique cuisine, and community connection spaces.
Notably, the music night for runners and attendees remains a highlight, featuring many artists. The list of participating artists is expected to be announced soon.
According to a VPBank representative, the bank has accompanied the event for five seasons, aiming to develop it into an annual sports activity for Dong Thap and the Mekong Delta region, while also contributing to promoting local culture and tourism.
