Ai Phuong: 'Running is moving meditation, it helps me de-stress'

Singer and actress Ai Phuong believes that running is the most effective way to relieve stress, regenerate energy, and balance her artistic work with her life.

On the afternoon of 19/7, Ai Phuong was at Bien Dong Park (Da Nang) to receive her race kit before the 21km VnExpress Marathon race on the morning of 20/7. Having participated in many races, she was familiar with the procedures and quickly completed the process. Afterward, the singer visited sponsor booths and participated in some activities. Many fans recognized her, surrounding her for autographs and photos.

"Da Nang is always beautiful, from the running route to the scenery and the hospitable people. Those are the reasons why I've returned here many times just to run," the artist shared.

The professional organization, the connection between participants, and the strong sense of community are also reasons why Ai Phuong chose VnExpress Marathon. "Reuniting with friends who share the same passion on the race track is something I always look forward to every season."

Having conquered the half marathon several times, Phan Le Ai Phuong no longer feels the same pressure as in her first races. However, her preparation this time was more challenging due to the demanding filming schedule of the TV show "Sisters Who Make Waves". Therefore, her goal for VnExpress Marathon Da Nang was adjusted to be more realistic: to finish without injuries and in good spirits, enjoying the scenery along the way.

Instead of focusing on her time, Ai Phuong chooses to savor each milestone, listening to her body and encouraging herself. "21km is a long journey. In previous races, I often felt tired from kilometer 14 onwards. This time it might be even more difficult, but I keep telling myself: 'Good job, Phuong!' and keep going. I believe I can do it," she expressed her determination.

For Ai Phuong, running is not only a physical activity but also a way to balance her mental well-being. She likens the experience to "moving meditation," where runners focus on each step, breath, and listen to themselves.

"When I run, I don't think much. All the fatigue in my head fades away. That feeling is very clear, like meditation but in motion," she said.

The open space and connection with nature also help the singer relieve stress. Thanks to the physical foundation built from running, she maintains stamina during long filming projects with little sleep. "There are times when I film late at night and wake up early continuously, with a lot of physical activity, but thanks to a healthy foundation, I have more energy to complete it," she shared.

Observing the growth of the running community in recent years, Ai Phuong recognizes it as a positive trend, especially among artists. "I think this is a trend that will stick with people for a long time, because it's accessible, doesn't cost much, and brings many benefits both physically and mentally," she said.

She mentioned that she has invited many friends, including fellow artists from "Sisters Who Make Waves", to join her in training. For her, artists promoting a healthy and positive lifestyle is also a way to inspire the community. "Running is a personal journey, but when you have companions, it becomes a great motivation to maintain the habit," she shared.

In the future, Phan Le Ai Phuong wants to continue participating in community races, not focusing on achievements but on maintaining physical fitness, staying connected with the running community, and enjoying every step.

VnExpress Marathon Da Nang 2025 took place on the morning of 20/7, with the route passing through many characteristic tourist attractions such as Rong Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Han River, and Vo Nguyen Giap coastal road. This year, the starting time was changed to 2:30 a.m. instead of a night race like last year. The finish line for the 42km distance was moved to Bien Dong Park to expand the cheering area and enhance the runners' experience. Readers can find more news here.
