Team Europe initially led 3-1 after the first day at Chase Center, San Francisco, but trailed 3-9 after losing all four matches on the second day. On the third day, with each win worth three points, Alcaraz secured six points for Team Europe with victories in both singles and doubles. However, Jakub Mensik's loss to Alex De Minaur and Alexander Zverev's defeat by Taylor Fritz sealed Europe's 9-15 loss to Team World.
This victory marks Team World's return to the championship title, which they lost to Team Europe in Berlin, Germany last year. Their winning team combined experience and youth, featuring Taylor Fritz, Alex De Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Joao Fonseca, Jenson Brooksby, and last-minute additions Reilly Opelka and Alex Michelsen.

For the first time, legend Andre Agassi, who replaced John McEnroe as Team World's captain, lifted the trophy at this prestigious team event. Out of eight Laver Cups, Team Europe has won five times. The tournament, co-founded by Roger Federer, will return to London, England next year.
Among the players at this year's tournament in the USA, Alcaraz attracted attention with his newly dyed blond hair. "We discussed and nicknamed him ‘Silver Fox’. Actually, it was blond two days ago, but Carlos’ hair grows so fast that it's now silver," said Alcaraz's Team Europe teammate, Casper Ruud. "In the next few days, the hair color will darken, so I think Silver Fox is a suitable nickname for him."
At the recent US Open, Alcaraz surprised everyone by entering the tournament with a shaved head. The Spanish player explained the new look as an accident while having his brother cut his hair, forcing him to shave it all off. Leaving the tournament with the trophy, Alcaraz continued to surprise fans with his blond hair.
"He talked to me and sent me a picture before we met," said Alexander Zverev. "It looks pretty good! Every time he has a new hairstyle, he wins. But that didn't hold true at the Laver Cup."

The 2025 Laver Cup took place from 19-21/9 at the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors basketball team in San Francisco, California. Last year, Team Europe defeated Team World 13-11. World number one Alcaraz played four matches at the tournament, winning two doubles matches and one singles match, while losing one match to Taylor Fritz on the second day.
Before the tournament, Alcaraz, along with Ruud and Zverev, played golf with Roger Federer, one of the founders of the Laver Cup. On the golf course, Alcaraz received advice from the Swiss legend. "He told me I have to stay focused for the next five years. When I'm 27, I have to keep thinking about the next five years," said Alcaraz. "I will try to follow his advice."
