With just over a week left in the summer 2025 transfer window, Manchester United has yet to sell five players deemed surplus to requirements by Amorim.
Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have all been training away from the first team as they await news on their futures. Marcus Rashford, the fifth member of this group, has already secured a loan move to Barca. Another player, not initially in this group but also facing a potential exit, is striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Amorim acknowledged the less-than-ideal situation, stating that these players want to play elsewhere. "We are trying to find solutions that satisfy everyone," the 40-year-old manager said in a press conference on 22/8. "But when the market closes, things will be different. Then, we have to integrate these players and start anew. Anything can happen."
Manchester United had hoped to finalize its restructuring by 1/9, having already brought in expensive signings like Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko. However, the club is still targeting a central midfielder and a goalkeeper. Their immediate priority, though, is selling their excess players.
Roma has reportedly made a loan offer for Sancho, while Chelsea is interested in Garnacho but has balked at the Red Devils' asking price of 67 million USD. Real Betis is keen to bring Antony back after his loan spell but is reluctant to make the move permanent. Malacia is also attracting interest from several European clubs.
Antony and Malacia are considered potential backup options if they can't find new clubs. Malacia could serve as the second-choice left-back behind new signing Patrick Dorgu. Antony is seen as a good fit for the 3-4-2-1 system, similar to Amad Diallo on the right wing.
Conversely, Sancho and Garnacho have faced more disciplinary issues than performance concerns. It will be difficult for them to regain the Portuguese manager's trust after their disagreements. However, Amorim's statement that "anything can happen" suggests he is not completely closing the door on their return to the first team.
The upcoming match against Fulham is seen as an opportunity for United to secure their first win. The Red Devils have won their last eight matches at Craven Cottage, and their objective for Sunday is nothing less than three points.
