Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, confirmed this at a press conference held on the morning of 22/8 at the Tui Blue Hotel. He considered VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang's participation of 13,000 athletes a positive sign for both local sports and tourism. The event demonstrates the growing attraction of the marathon within the community over its 4 seasons.

Mr. Thanh affirmed that this is a national-level sporting event, contributing to the promotion and shaping of Khanh Hoa's friendly, dynamic, and attractive sports tourism image. Therefore, since reaching an agreement with the organizers, the province has held regular meetings and coordinated with various departments, agencies, and sectors, allocating resources for collaboration. The local government has provided guidance to accommodation providers, restaurants, and other service businesses to offer special deals for athletes and their families. The province aims to create favorable conditions for the 13,000 runners and their relatives to have safe and engaging experiences during their time in Khanh Hoa.

"Over the past four years, VnExpress Marathon has continued to affirm its brand as a leading running event in Vietnam, becoming a preferred choice for the running community," Mr. Thanh stated.

Le Van Anh, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said that VM Libera Nha Trang marks the 30th event in the system, welcoming a record number of athletes. More than 50% of the athletes are from the central region. Over 4,000 athletes come from Khanh Hoa itself, approximately three times more than last season, demonstrating the love for and development of running in the local area.

Regarding the race route, some sections have been adjusted, such as avoiding Nguyen Co Thach Street, which is not in good condition. The Luong Son pass section has been modified to reduce its length and elevation, optimizing runners' performance. For the first time, the 21km and 10km races will start simultaneously. These two distances account for over 50% of the athletes, creating an impressive spectacle at the starting line.

The fourth edition of the event brings many innovations. The Expo area is located within the 44-hectare Libera Nha Trang coastal urban area. Here, runners can explore activities such as the Dream Puppet show, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding. On the afternoon of Saturday, 23/8, runners will also be treated to a music festival by the beach, creating a vibrant atmosphere before the opening ceremony. As part of the National Day celebrations, the Expo features a patriotic backdrop. The race kit bag includes a Vietnamese flag sticker for runners to show their national pride.

Nguyen Huong Hoai, Director of Marketing and Communications at KDI Holdings, considers VnExpress Marathon the leading running series in Vietnam. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and connects communities of sports enthusiasts. This year, with a record 13,000 athletes, the event shows a breakthrough, affirming Nha Trang as a desirable destination for runners and tourists alike. Runners will experience running on one of the most beautiful coastal bay routes in Vietnam.

On behalf of KDI Holdings, the investor of Libera Nha Trang, Ms. Hoai stated that since establishing a presence in the coastal city, social and community activities have always been among the company's top priorities. VnExpress Marathon and KDI Holdings share a common vision.

VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang starts at 2:30 a.m. on 24/8. The starting area is at 2 Thang 4 Square. Bib and race kit distribution will take place from 22/8 at the Libera Nha Trang urban area.

At the conclusion of the press conference, sports officials expressed confidence in the capabilities and experience of VnExpress Marathon, and suggested expanding its activities in the province, especially with golf and other water sports. The province has adequate infrastructure and favorable natural conditions. He asserted that this would help establish Khanh Hoa as a leading sea sports destination in the region and the world.
