Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, four of the five players considered potential disruptions at Man Utd, were excluded from the pre-season tour in the US. The fifth, Marcus Rashford, has joined Barca on loan.

"There are different reasons for each player," Amorim explained during a press conference at MetLife, US, on 24/7. "Some need to find new clubs for more playing time. Others want new challenges. So, we're giving them time to think and decide."
The Portuguese manager stated he would work with these players again if no transfers materialize before the deadline. He hasn't ruled out their potential to compete for starting positions if they demonstrate commitment to the new project.
"CEO Omar Berrarda and football director Jason Wilcox certainly have a price for these players," Amorim said. "If that price isn't met, they remain Man Utd players. If they have to return to the squad, they will."
Amorim believes Garnacho, Antony, Sancho, and Malacia will bring healthy competition, especially with the 2026 World Cup approaching. "I understand the club might wait until the last minute, but there could be surprises. I'm ready to welcome the players," he affirmed. "I'll be pleased to have more options, especially if they compete for playing time."

New signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have arrived in the US and are ready to play, starting with the friendly against West Ham on 26/7. Man Utd is still seeking a striker and is reportedly in contact with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins.
Amorim acknowledged the possibility of not acquiring a new number 9 but expressed contentment with the current squad. He expects Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund to compete with the new arrivals.
"The club needs to be careful with signings," Amorim stated. "It's significant that Cunha and Mbeumo chose to come here. They had other options, including Champions League clubs, and knew our situation. But they chose us, and that's key for me."
