Eberechi Eze's stellar performance at the Emirates Stadium on 23/11, where he scored a hat-trick against Tottenham, highlighted his impact on Arsenal. In summer 2025, Eze had almost joined Tottenham before eventually moving to Arsenal for a total fee of 90 million USD, a decision Tottenham now undoubtedly regrets.
Eze's hat-trick was pivotal in Arsenal's dominant 4-1 victory. After Leandro Trossard opened the scoring, Eze produced a solo effort, striking diagonally to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead at halftime. Just 35 seconds into the second half, Eze completed his brace with a left-footed curling shot into the far corner. In the 76th minute, he capped off his performance with a right-footed shot into the near corner, completing his hat-trick and sealing the win.

Mikel Arteta lauded Eze's immediate impact and dedication. "Things happen for a reason," Arteta said after the match. "Immediately after returning from the national team, he only rested for two days. But on the third day, Eze was asking for extra training, asking me all sorts of things to improve. When a player has such talent and desire, today's result is not a coincidence."
The Spanish coach stated that Eze's arrival "brings joy and an aura" that Arsenal needs. "He can decide a match at any moment. That gives the entire team great confidence," Arteta emphasized.
Eze's hat-trick marked a significant achievement, making him the fourth player to score a hat-trick in official matches between Arsenal and Tottenham. He follows Ted Drake (Arsenal, October 1934), Terry Dyson (Tottenham, August 1961), and Alan Sunderland (Arsenal, December 1978). Furthermore, Eze is the 400th hat-trick scorer in Premier League history, and the 23rd player to score a hat-trick for Arsenal in the league.
"Unbelievable," Arteta continued. "I looked at the statistics and asked myself: when was the last time someone scored a hat-trick in a North London derby? It's been many, many years. That shows the level of difficulty, but this is not a coincidence."

The 43-year-old coach viewed the win against Tottenham as a timely comeback, especially after Arsenal drew 2-2 with newly promoted Sunderland before the international break. "We once had a run of 10 consecutive wins, and now is the time to recreate that momentum," he expressed.
Arsenal's victory was even more significant as two strong title contenders, Man City and Liverpool, both faltered this round. The "Gunners" are currently leading the Premier League table with 29 points, six points clear of second-placed Chelsea.
Despite the lead, Arteta remained cautious. "In this league, six points don't mean much. The gap is actually very fragile," he said. "We still need key players to return. Noni Madueke has played again, but there are still many important injuries."
Arteta's squad faces a busy schedule ahead. On 26/11, they will continue their home campaign against Bayern in matchday five of the Champions League, then travel to face Chelsea in matchweek 13 of the Premier League four days later.
