The 105 goals in 29 matches highlight the absolute dominance of Vincent Kompany's squad this season. Previously, the legendary 1971-1972 team under Udo Lattek scored 101 goals, led by icon Gerd Muller. Kompany's side broke the record with five matches still remaining in the season.
The record-breaking goal was scored by midfielder Leon Goretzka, making the score 2-0, despite his diminished central role in Kompany's system. The 31-year-old midfielder has only scored three goals this season and is likely to leave the team as a free agent next summer.

Shortly after, Michael Olise increased the total goals to 103, before Nicolas Jackson and Raphael Guerreiro further extended the lead. Olise was also a focal point beyond his play, as he repeatedly clashed with opposing players and home fans. After scoring, the French player celebrated by putting his hand to his lips towards the stands, which led to intense boos. Upon leaving the field, Olise was even pelted with objects, but responded with a defiant thumbs-up gesture.
Elsewhere, Jamal Musiala continued to garner attention. The 23-year-old midfielder had just returned from a serious injury and is racing against time to be fit for the 2026 World Cup. Before the match, former legend Oliver Kahn caused controversy by advising Musiala to skip the tournament to preserve his physical condition. This view was immediately refuted by Sporting Director Max Eberl and pundit Lothar Matthaus. Musiala responded with an energetic performance and the opening goal.
The emphatic victory also came as Bayern heavily rotated their squad, making seven changes from the previous match. This further highlighted their squad depth. Reserve players like Jackson and Guerreiro still made an impact, showing that Bayern is not dependent on a fixed group of key players.
This marks the third time Bayern has reached the 100-goal mark in a Bundesliga season, following the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons. However, they have never achieved this so early and dominantly as they have this season. A goal difference of +78 after 29 rounds is clear evidence of their superiority.
The 12-point lead over second-placed Dortmund has virtually decided the title race. Meanwhile, remaining rivals like RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are now only competing for Champions League qualification spots.
In the next round, Bayern only needs a better result than Dortmund to clinch the title four rounds early. However, before that, Kompany's squad will host Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals on the evening of 15/4, holding a one-goal advantage.
