This year's event focuses on developing the half marathon (21 km) along with two shorter distances, guiding runners through a course connected to the distinct cultural and historical spaces of the ancient capital. Despite the absence of a full marathon distance, the participation of over 8,000 people demonstrates the event's continued appeal, solidifying its position as a notable gathering for runners nationwide.

According to statistics, the 21 km and 5 km distances saw similar participation, with approximately 3,000 athletes each, accounting for 75% of total participants. Meanwhile, the 10 km distance attracted over 2,000 people, or 25%. This year's race also features the presence of over 200 international runners from 40 countries and territories, including Japan, the United Kingdom, and Russia.
Hue leads in runner numbers, accounting for over half of all participating athletes. Da Nang ranks second in registrations, followed by TP HCM, Ha Noi, and several other Central region provinces and cities.
The registration breakdown also reveals a fairly even distribution of participants across various age groups. The two groups of runners under 30 and those aged 30-39 both account for the highest proportion, each at 30%, highlighting the event's clear appeal to young and active runners. The 40-49 age group makes up 25%, while runners aged 50 and above represent 15%.
The organizing committee stated that preparations are being finalized to ensure athlete safety and a good experience. Aid stations, medical teams, coordination staff, and cheering points along the route will be deployed to support runners throughout their journey.
"Building on the operational standards of previous seasons, this year, we continue to refine the route, aid stations, medical support, and the expo experience for athletes. The organizing committee hopes the event will not only be a sports festival for the Central region running community but also a must-attend event for any new runner," a representative of the organizing committee shared.
