Despite the absence of main striker Harry Kane due to a calf injury, Bayern still dominated the game. At their home ground, Allianz Arena, "the Bavarians" controlled possession with 67% and unleashed 17 shots, with nine on target. This significantly surpassed the visitors' seven shots and three on target.

Bayern pressed from the opening whistle but only broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Leon Goretzka flicked the ball through for Luis Diaz, who raced down and fired a first-time diagonal shot into the net. The Colombian forward's goal was his 14th in the Bundesliga this season, matching Deniz Undav of Stuttgart and trailing only teammate Harry Kane (30).
In first-half stoppage time, Diaz shone again with an assist for Konrad Laimer, who finished from close range to double the lead. This marked Laimer's third Bundesliga goal this season, his best return for Bayern.
Early in the second half, Bayern were forced to substitute goalkeeper Jonas Urbig for Manuel Neuer, who showed signs of injury recurrence. However, this unforced change did not disrupt the home team's relentless attacking play.
In the 55th minute, Nicolas Jackson, the starting striker replacing Kane, drove into the penalty area and was fouled by Rocco Reitz. The referee immediately issued a red card to the Gladbach midfielder and awarded Bayern a penalty. From the penalty spot, Jamal Musiala struck a low shot to the right corner, scoring his first Bundesliga goal since returning from injury.
Jackson made his own mark in the 79th minute, cutting in and finishing from close range to extend the lead to 4-0. The Senegalese striker scored his first goal for Bayern in 2026 and his sixth goal across all competitions this season.

Gladbach's late efforts only resulted in a consolation goal in the 89th minute when Wael Mohya, a 17-year-old player who had come on minutes earlier, tapped into an empty net after a rebound. This goal made Mohya the youngest player in Gladbach's history to score.
The 4-1 victory allowed Bayern to maintain their scoring streak in every Bundesliga match this season. "The Bavarians" have now scored 92 goals in 25 matches, shattering their own previous record of 75 goals in 25 matches from the 2021-2022 season.
Vincent Kompany's squad solidified their top position in the Bundesliga with 66 points, 14 points clear of Dortmund. This win also served as a perfect warm-up for their Champions League round of 16 first leg match against Atalanta on 10/3.
