The first half of the match at Allianz Arena yesterday was relatively balanced. In the 5th minute, Luis Diaz delivered a cross, leading to Kilian Fischer scoring an own goal under pressure from Michael Olise. This was Wolfsburg's third consecutive own goal, marking the worst record in Bundesliga history.
In the 13th minute, 20-year-old forward Dzenan Pejcinovic struck a left-footed shot into the far corner, beating goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to equalize. Pejcinovic, who previously played for Bayern's youth team, is currently in excellent form, having scored 4 goals in his last two matches.
In the 30th minute, Olise crossed from the right wing, and Diaz headed it in from close range, restoring Bayern's lead. Diaz scored his 9th Bundesliga goal, matching Deniz Undav and Haris Tabakovic, and trailing only Harry Kane in the top scorer list this season. Bayern also extended their record of scoring at least two goals in a Bundesliga match to 24 consecutive games.

In the second half, Bayern exploded with 6 goals, securing their biggest win of the season so far. Kane, Leon Goretzka, and Raphael Guerreiro each scored one goal, Olise netted a brace, and the final goal was an own goal by Moritz Jenz.
Notably, Kane scored his 20th goal in 16 Bundesliga matches this season. The English striker achieved this feat in all three of his seasons playing in Germany. Previously, only one player scored 20 or more goals in his first three Bundesliga seasons: the late German striker Timo Konietzka in the early 1960s.
This was the first time Bayern scored 8 goals in a Bundesliga match since their 8-1 victory over Mainz in 3/2024.
Bayern increased their tally to 63 goals in the first 16 rounds. This marks a club record for goals scored in the first half of a Bundesliga season, even though "The Bavarians" still have one match against Cologne on 14/1.
