"Amorim is very good in press conferences," Carragher said on The Overlap Fan Debate on 2/9. "But when he doesn't win, people get annoyed, like they want to say 'stop talking'. If he wins, we praise his personality. I really think that if Amorim wasn't charming and handsome, he probably would have lost his job sooner. Because Man Utd's results are so bad."

Amorim has not improved Man Utd since replacing Erik ten Hag. Last season, the "Red Devils" finished 15th in the Premier League and lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
The team's start to this season has also been difficult, losing to fourth-tier club Grimsby in the League Cup and winning only one of their first three Premier League games—a narrow victory over newly promoted Burnley at home thanks to a penalty in added time.
In 46 matches under Amorim across all competitions, Man Utd has lost 17, drawn 12, and won 17—a win rate of only 36.96%.
Amorim's outspokenness in press conferences has often caused controversy. After the loss to Grimsby, the Portuguese manager admitted that there were times he wanted to give up and hated his own Man Utd players. Last season, he even called the current Man Utd the worst team in the club's history.
Paul Scholes, Carragher's former England teammate and a Man Utd legend, believes that the board has not provided Amorim with enough quality players. "They haven't strengthened in the right areas. The midfield lacks stamina, the attack isn't scoring enough goals, and the goalkeeping situation hasn't been fully resolved. With the current options, it's very difficult to win the Premier League," the 50-year-old commented.
In reality, Amorim has significantly overhauled Man Utd during this transfer window. The "Red Devils" parted ways with several first-team players, including Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Amass, and Jadon Sancho.
Conversely, the Old Trafford club spent approximately 300 million USD to bring in forwards Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, defender Diego Leon, and goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
