Inter Miami is considering signing Casemiro on a free transfer starting next summer, potentially reuniting him with Lionel Messi. The 34-year-old midfielder has announced his departure from Man Utd at the end of this season, as the club declined to activate a one-year extension option on his current contract, which expires in June 2026. Casemiro recently visited Miami with his wife, Anna, a trip the Sun newspaper reported was an opportunity for him to explore a move to Inter Miami.

Should Casemiro join Inter Miami, he would become the 28th player to have played alongside both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He previously played with Ronaldo at Real from 2013 to 2018. Messi, who became Inter Miami's captain in 2023, is already a key figure at the club. The extensive list of 27 players who have achieved this unique feat includes: Angel Di Maria, Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique, Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala, Carlos Tevez, Keylor Navas, Deco, Achraf Hakimi, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Gabriel Heinze, Miralem Pjanic, Arthur Melo, Andre Gomes, Nelson Semedo, Francisco Trincao, Renato Sanches, Pablo Sarabia, Henrik Larsson, Martin Caceres, Ezequiel Garay, Fernando Gago, and Gonzalo Martinez.
Beyond Inter Miami, European media suggest Casemiro could reunite with Ronaldo at Al Nassr. The Saudi Arabian club is reportedly prepared to offer a high salary to bolster its midfield, potentially matching or exceeding his current $470,000 USD weekly earnings at Man Utd, which makes him the club's highest-paid player. Another option for the Brazilian star is a return to his home country with former club Sao Paulo, where he spent 7 years in their youth system and over two years with the senior team.
Widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in football history, Casemiro enjoyed a decorated career at Real, securing 18 titles, including 5 Champions League trophies. Following his move to Man Utd in 2022, he added the FA Cup and League Cup to his accolades. However, due to his age and inconsistent performance over the past two years, Casemiro is no longer part of the Red Devils' long-term plans.
