Barca traveled to Stamford Bridge in strong form, unbeaten in their last four matches, including three wins. However, Hansi Flick's squad displayed a surprisingly lackluster performance, enduring a nightmare evening in London.
Chelsea dominated, creating a one-sided game from the first half. In the initial 45 minutes, the home side registered 7 shots with one big chance, compared to 3 shots and one big chance for Barca.

In the 4th minute, Enzo Fernandez put the ball into Barca's net with a close-range shot. However, the goal was disallowed because Wesley Fofana handled the ball in the preceding play.
Fernandez again found the net for Barca in the 22nd minute with a header into an open goal, but this was the second time Chelsea had a goal disallowed due to an offside call.
Fans at Stamford Bridge truly celebrated the opening goal in the 27th minute. Marc Cucurella delivered the ball from the right flank to Pedro Neto, who executed an improvised back-heel. The ball bounced awkwardly near the goal line, deflecting off Jules Kounde's foot and into the net. This marked Kounde's third own goal since joining Barca in the 2022-2023 season, a statistic unmatched by any other player in the same period.

Difficulties mounted for Barca when Ronald Araujo fouled Cucurella, receiving his second yellow card in the 44th minute. Consequently, Barca became the third club to have a player score an own goal and receive a red card in the first half of a Champions League match.
At the start of the second half, Chelsea once again had a goal disallowed. Alejandro Garnacho broke through on the left wing, then passed low into the penalty area for Andrey Santos, who shot into Barca's net. However, the Argentine forward was offside before receiving the ball.
Three disallowed goals did not prevent Chelsea from securing a resounding win. In the 55th minute, Brazilian forward Estevao bypassed both Pau Cubarsi and Alejandro Balde before striking the ball into the top corner past goalkeeper Joan Garcia. At 18 years and 215 days old, Estevao became the third teenage player to score in his first three Champions League matches, following Kylian Mbappe (18 years and 113 days old) and Erling Haaland (19 years and 107 days old).

Chelsea concluded their dominant performance in the 73rd minute with a close-range shot from substitute forward Liam Delap. The 3-0 victory propelled "The Blues" to fourth place with 10 points, a position that secures direct qualification to the round of 16. Barca, meanwhile, dropped to 15th place with 7 points, a position requiring two play-off rounds.
